‘Masonic Bonds in the Civil War’

    

Among his many jobs, our very own St. John the Evangelist is one of the patron saints of authors, so it is extra fortuitous when a Brother Mason pens a book.

Johnstown is way too far upstate for me to visit, but on Wednesday, October 7, Unity Lodge 79 will host a dinner and reading with W. Bro. Gordon Moccio.

Moccio is the author of By the Signs We Know Them: Masonic Bonds in the Civil War, published last year. From the publicity:

The brothers of Unity Lodge 79 (22 North Perry Street, Johnstown, New York) will host a dinner presentation of W. Gordon Moccio’s book. Join Gordon as he shares powerful accounts of brotherly love and fraternal devotion—stories of Masons who, even in the heat of battle, recognized one another, protected one another, and upheld the sacred obligations of the Craft.
