‘Make noise with this tool of iron’

Just because no tool of iron was heard in the construction of King Solomon’s Temple doesn’t mean you can’t bang around a cast iron skillet making Masonic pancakes. Livingston Lodge 160 in Louisiana, with help from Lodge Cast Iron, has a new fundraiser. From the publicity:

Livingston Lodge 160 is excited to offer our sister lodges an opportunity to participate in a fundraiser that will benefit your lodge! With permission from the Grand Lodge, we are pleased to offer this custom cast skillet from Lodge Cast Iron.

Grand Lodge of Louisiana
Commemorative Cast Iron Skillet Fundraiser

Purpose: Raise funds through the sale of custom 8-inch cast iron skillets featuring the Grand Lodge of Louisiana logo cast into the bottom.

This fundraiser is being coordinated by Livingston Lodge and offered to all lodges under the jurisdiction of the Grand Lodge of Louisiana.

Details: The fundraiser will be shared with all lodges under the jurisdiction of the Grand Lodge of Louisiana.

Each skillet will be sold to participating lodges for $75. Lodges are encouraged to sell each skillet for a minimum of $100, earning a $25 profit on every skillet sold.

Livingston Lodge must receive all orders and payments no later than December 31, 2026. Checks should be made payable to Livingston Lodge 160. Participating lodges will pick up their skillet orders during the 2027 Grand Lodge Annual Communication. A minimum statewide order of 1,000 skillets is required for the manufacturer to produce this custom casting.

Your support and participation are greatly appreciated in helping us reach this goal and make this fundraiser a success.

Together, we can make this a successful statewide fundraiser while providing our members and supporters with a unique, commemorative cast iron skillet that will last for generations. Thank you for your support!

That’ll have to be one big pancake to emboss the whole grand lodge seal. I’d like two, please—with bananas foster sauce.

‘The official Masonic Lodge skillet’

The manufacturer is Lodge Cast Iron. The designs are Masonic—one skillet for each of the Craft degrees. Orders are accepted now for December delivery, so you can enjoy Masonic Lodge pancakes for Christmas. Actually, these are small, at 3.5 inches in diameter, so make that silver dollar pancakes. The ad says they’re ideal for baked goods, but I’m thinking egg McSammiches. Anyway, this is a fundraiser for Landrum Lodge 48 in Savannah, Georgia. From the publicity:
