‘The ALR: A Night for the Marquis and the Count’

The American Lodge of Research joins New York Freemasonry’s longterm celebration of the Lafayette Bicentenary with “A Night for the Marquis and the Count.”
The lodge will meet Monday, March 31, 2025 at Masonic Hall in Manhattan to present Bro. Chris Ruli and Bro. Erich Huhn.

  • Bro. Ruli, Past Grand Historian of the Grand Lodge of the District of Columbia and author of the book Brother Lafayette, will discuss Marquis de Lafayette’s farewell tour of the United States in 1824-25, particularly its many Masonic points.
  • Bro. Huhn, Junior Deacon of the lodge and Drew University Ph.D. candidate specializing in nineteenth century Freemasonry, will share what Comte Alexis de Tocqueville wrote of our fraternity in his book Democracy in America, gleaned from his tour of the nation in 1831-32.

The lodge tiles at 7 p.m. All Master Masons are welcome. Attire: suit & tie with apron.
